Google Voice finally comes to the iphone…Does it really?

January 27, 2010 · Filed Under Web Apps · Comments

Ok so the hype this week is Google Voice on the iPhone, so I tried it out, for off let it be known that it’s not an app it’s a web based app. You remember web based apps don’t you?

The interface is clean and very iPhone like and yes it works just fine, and as most Google products it’s free. If you remember last year Google submitted the Google Voice app to Apple but it was indeed rejected and that resulted in this Google vs. Apple battle that’s been rumored to be going on.

In any event I still think the bad guy here is AT&T, I believe they are the one’s stopping the Google Voice app. But in any event the web app works just fine although it can only be used in WiFi mode.

Hopefully good things will be happening in the coming months that will weaken this AT&T monster that has been holding back all the cool things the iPhone is capable of.

10 Reasons iTunes is so great.

November 26, 2008 · Filed Under Entertainment · Comments

I just read an article in PC World magazine; yeah, yeah I know what the heck are you doing reading PC World? But I was in Wal-Mart waiting for my wife to grab some diapers for the little guy and since Wal-Mart does not carry any Apple magazines, my choice was Skateboard Magazine, Beads Weekly or PC World. So after reading Beads Weekly cover to cover I had nothing left to do but read PC World. LOL

All joking aside, PC World had an article call 10 Reasons to hate iTunes. I chuckled over that and decided to write the 10 reasons is so darn good.

  1. Ease of use- There is no other application that organizes all your media so easy as iTunes
  2. Music and Movie Store - 1 click to purchase music and movies and even rent a movie
  3. App Store - App store is easy to access on your computer or iPhone
  4. Organizes your music - No other program on the market organizes your music better than iTunes.
  5. Podcasts - iTunes is the number one place to find or publish podcasts and have them automatically download to your computer or iPhone
  6. TV show season pass - I’m busy I don’t have the time to keep up with what time the networks want to air their programs, I just purchase a season pass of the TV show I want to watch and it’s added to my iTunes library
  7. Streaming - iTunes allows me to stream my entire music library via AirTunes to my stereo system or all your media to Apple TV
  8. Remote Control - One of the coolest apps is the iPhone Remote, you can control your iTunes library anywhere in your network using your iPhone or iPod Touch
  9. Simply Media App - Using the Simply Media App you can stream your iTunes library anywhere you have an Internet connection
  10. iTunes Just rocks - There is no other media application on the market that works better than iTunes.
