Manage your passwords with 1Password on your iPhone
Are you one of those people who use the same user name and password for everything, in other words can someone take control of your entire life by just guessing your simple password?
Trust me I know why you try and keep one user name and password for everything, because it’s easy to remember. Because everything you do online requires a password; who wants to try and keep track of 50 or 60 different ones, and better yet how? A spreadsheet? Please.
Agile Web Solutions has the answer and it’s called 1Password, it’s a very cool desktop application for your Mac that keeps track of all your user name and passwords for all your banking info, online accounts, software info and so much more. Another cool feature is the ability for it to generate passwords for you, so you not longer have to come up with passwords like 65mustang, 66mustang, 67mustang… It creates a very hard to figure out password on the fly.
Now I have used password programs in the past and they were nothing more than a place to type in your info and save it, 1Password is so much better, with a plugin for your browser when you type in a user name and password in any form a pop-up opens asking if you would like to save this to 1Password. So cool, so easy!
I’m known at the local branch of my bank as the guy who does not know his account number. It’s a big joke when I walk up to the teller becasue the teller has to log in and find it for me; and if by chance I encounter someone I don’t know; well it takes that much longer. Problem solved with the new 1Password app on my iPod Touch I have everything I need right there. I simply sync my iPod Touch to my desktop via WiFi and I’m up to date with everything I need in my iPod Touch.
So now my iPod is not just 5000 songs in my pocket, it’s also 100+ passwords in my pocket with 1Password installed on my Touch.
I love this app, it’s very secure, it’s graphically pleasing to the eye, and best of all works as advertised. The desktop application is $34.95 for a single license, $49.95 for a family license for 5 users, and what’s really nice is you can buy a single user license and if you decide to upgrade later to the family license you can for $17.95. That’s a nice thing, a lot of companies don’t do that. The iPhone/iPod Application is a free download in the App Store, but it says free for a limited time on the iPassword site. We have to give it an iPhone Applications 5 thumbs up.
