The iphone app reviews are coming
I received a couple emails this week as well as last asking where all the iPhone app reviews have been. Which leads me to believe more people are thinking the same.
iPhone app reviews are coming and a lot of them, there has been so much going on with the iPhone that we have been busy putting stuff together in the background.
We have grown a bit since the start of the blog and have hired on 2 full time bloggers in addition to myself.
We started doing some product reviews as a test and have received positive feedback and will have I full time person just conducting accessory reviews.
With a small staff in place we are ready to start rolling out the app reviews starting this week.

What’s in store for the new iphone?
If the iPod is any proof that the hardware design gets better with age at Apple; then you can bet the house that the new iPhone will blow your mind. We already know that the 3.0 software is going to rock. I’m expecting the hardware to be just crazy cool.
Let’s take a look back at some of Apples product advances:
Mac:
The beige boring case to the blue and white G3, to the graphite G4, to the crazy awesome G5.
IBook:
The clamshell candy colors, to the small white and black, to the MacBook
iPod:
Generation 1, the ultimate design, to the video iPod, the nano, to the best iPod ever the iPod touch that is hidden in the shadow of the iPhone.
Look at the iPhones design change between version 1 and 2, and this June being the two year anniversary of the iPhone. Well this thing is gonna rock. I’m thinking the new iPhone will be razor thin, you know it’s gonna have some wireless powering feature.
This June is going to be an exciting time for the iPhone.

Imagine life without the iphone
What would life be like without the iPhone? Kind of a crazy question considering the iPhone has only been around for just shy of two years at this writing.
But think about the cellular phone market before the iPhone, the hottest phone was the Motorola Razor and the hottest smart phone was the Palm Treo.
What a difference the iPhone has made. Apple basically created the mobile Internet because the Internet on any other phone was a joke. Microsoft and Palm wanted to believe that their devices would allow you to keep your laptops at home. But the iPhone really made that come true.
What makes the iPhone so special is it’s replaces so many different products and does a darn good job at it.
The iPhone in one portable device replaces the need to carry:
A PDA
An iPod
A laptop
An ebook reader
An email device
A movie player
An Internet radio
A satellite radio
A flashlight ![]()
A portable gaming system
So when you look at all these things in one unit, think to yourself what would life be like without an iPhone?

Sling player app for iPhone is coming soon
Sling Media has announced on their website that they have submitted their Sling player app for approval to Apple. This is going to be one hot app. I’m pretty sure Apple will jump right on it and get this app approved.
This is the type of app that makes the iPhone a more appealing product and I’m sure will help sell a few more units.

Skype for the iPhone
I have been wondering why a skype app has not been released for the iPhone; it seems like a no brainer.
Well from what I understand the wait is just about over because skype is ready to release a version for the iPhone. The announcement should be coming this week but I’m not clear when the actual app will be released.
A skype mobile app has been available for several year on Windows mobile. How hard could it be to release an iPhone version?

Apple stores selling iPhones without a contract
So the Apple stores are now selling the iPhone without a contract, but the iPhone will cost you the full price of some where around $500.
My question here is why and would you do it? I’m thinking Apple is will be selling the iPhone through a new carrier like Verizon.
Just my thoughts

Turning your iPhone into an Amazon Kindle
Electronic book readers seem to be the new craze in electronics, and with the only real players being Sony and Amazon the pricing for the units is quite high at around $350.00. Here’s the thing, I want to be a one gadget guy. I want to avoid shleping around 10 different thinks to take care of my lack of attention.
Amazon (a smart company, unlike XM) released an iPhone app about two weeks ago. Now at first I thought to myself do I really want to read a book on this little screen, so I tested it and purchased my first Kindle book from the Amazon store (a new James Patterson book that sells for $30.00 in book form that I got for $9.99). It was great, the size of the screen is not a problem because you can adjust the font size to whatever you are comfortable with.
The beneifts:
- No fumbling around with a book light in bed
- Very portable carry 1000′s of books in your pocket
- Large selection of books from Amazon.com including computer books (yippe)
- Flip the pages with one hand
- Bookmark the last page you were on
- Purchase books right on your iPhone via the Amazon Kindle store
Now if you already have an Amazon Kindle, its gets pretty cool. With a technology Amazon calls WhisperSync you can switch from you iPhone to your Kindle and be on the same page because the two units sync and keep up to date.
If you are a book reader and often find yourself in a waiting room wishing you had something read; other than an outdated Sports Illustrated or Car and Driver that every doctors office seems to have. Then whip out your iPhone power up the Kindle app and enjoy the lastest New York times best seller.
I Love the Amazon Kindle app and use it everyday, I’m now on my second book.
