Homerun Battle 3-D Rocks The iPhone
Homerun Battle 3D from COM2US is a slammin’ fun game that has slowly become the most addictive game on my iPhone. Very similar to the Home Run Derby in the MLB this game rocks. You have the option to use standard rules where you only receive points for homeruns or you can slip it into arcade mode where you get little points for hits and more points for home runs.
The graphics are excellent, your batter is in 3D and can slam some big hits. Points are rewarded for type of balls hit, some balls represent x2 and x3 hits and racking one into the score board gets big points and well as tapping the foul line poles will get you an additional 300 points.
Getting board of playing on your own, then hop online and play with people all over the world. Another cool feature is the ability to post your scores to Twitter and Facebook, but make sure your boss it not following your Twitter feed because posting 35 game scores during the work day could get you fired.
Try before you buy, it’s always a good sign when a game developer gives you the opportunity to try the game for free, in my experience this usually means the game rocks.
Five thumbs up all the way, you will love this game.
Sphere: Related ContentGoogle Voice finally comes to the iphone…Does it really?
Ok so the hype this week is Google Voice on the iPhone, so I tried it out, for off let it be known that it’s not an app it’s a web based app. You remember web based apps don’t you?
The interface is clean and very iPhone like and yes it works just fine, and as most Google products it’s free. If you remember last year Google submitted the Google Voice app to Apple but it was indeed rejected and that resulted in this Google vs. Apple battle that’s been rumored to be going on.
In any event I still think the bad guy here is AT&T, I believe they are the one’s stopping the Google Voice app. But in any event the web app works just fine although it can only be used in WiFi mode.
Hopefully good things will be happening in the coming months that will weaken this AT&T monster that has been holding back all the cool things the iPhone is capable of.

I just downloaded this app last night and have not put it down since. Funny thing is I have been overlooking this app for a few weeks now because I thought it was only for kids and didn’t want to put my iphone in my soon to be 2 year olds hands to drop and break.
But this is a pretty cool app, the interface alone is very cool and slick the way you control the different programs in it. You can listen to music, watch videos, create photo frames with the different characters and play games.
Now keep in mind this is pretty much a kids app, but there is one game that is worth the download its called “The Witches of Waverly Place” based on the Disney channel TV show starring Selena Gomez. It’s a match game that is so darn addictive that once you start you just can’t put it down.
If you have young kids or are a young kid at heart, give the Disney.com iphone app a shot, it will make you feel like a kid all over again.

The world is changing and it’s nice to see big companies changing with it. Big companies using new technologies to grow their business. The Pizza Hut iPhone app has generated over $1,000,000.00 in pizza sales in just a few months, that’s unreal.
A source of mine just released information to me about an iphone application being released by AAMCO. AAMCO Total Car Care you know them as AAMCO Transmission. I had a chance to view some screen shots of the app and have to say it looks quite impressive. The ability to diagnose a problem via the dashboard light. Instantly connect to the AAMCO location in your area. Using the iPhone’s GPS you can find the location to bring your car in. One of the coolest features is what appears to be the ability to keep a log of all the work you do on your car. I’m not sure this is a feature but it would be very cool to get a reminder sent when your next service is due.
All the info about this app is being released by AAMCO in the coming weeks, I’m guessing the app is still in the hands of Apple to get approval. AAMCO will be releasing information about the app on their new website expected in a couple of weeks. I expect this will generate a lot of sales for the Car Care Experts.
I hope to get a copy of the App soon to do a full review and will keep you posted on it.
Sphere: Related ContentiSwipe is a great iPhone app for business owners on the road
So you’re a business owner on the road, the original road warriors. You leave your business in the morning and service your clients on the road all day. Maybe you run a landscaping business, or a delivery service. Or how about the trade show people, you travel from city to city selling your products.
Sounds a lot like you huh? Well here is something I’m sure sounds familiar as well. Getting paid…or not. You do the service drop the invoice and cross your fingers that you will be paid. Or you sell your product at that trade show or flea market and take a check or credit card number.
What if you could do your service and then get paid. Simply process your customers credit card right at the time of service. Credit card companies charge hundreds of dollars for hardware to do this, but if you have an iPhone, iSwipe app and your credit card merchant account you can process credit cards right on your iPhone in real time for no additional cost.
Currently iSwipe supports the following merchant account service providers
- PayPal
- Authorize.net
- CyberSource
- PayFlow
The Problem with XM Radio on the iPhone
So it’s been a few months with the XM radio app on the iPhone. First off the app is great, the problem is with the company and how they run it. XM/Sirius is a company with no imagination and no marketing savy. It seems like they are run by a bunch of old timers who run their business like they did 20 years ago.
XM/Sirius is a company without a future, with the debt they have there is no way they can survive. The iPhone is killing them when it should have helped them but they did it all wrong.
What they did:
They took forever to release an iPhone app, far to long.
What they Should Have Done:
That app should have been released when the app store first opened.
What They Did:
They gave the app away for free and the only people that could use it are subscribers who already have a radio with a subscription. You could try a 7 day demo, but you have to buy a radio to get a radio ID to use the subscription. On top of that they shut down existing subscribers free online access and started charging an additional $3.00 to use the streaming service for the iPhone app.
What They Should Have Done:
The app should be $5.99, they would have made a ton of money on the sales of the app like the MLB did with their app. They should not have screwed their existing customers by charging them for something they have been giving away for years. And they should not require potential subscribers to buy a radio just to use their iPhone apps. Since the iPhone version does not have all the channels why should users pay extra for something they don’t get.
So there is no way for them to attract new subscribers to the iPhone, big mistake on XM’s part and the reason they are in the position they are in.
Some companies just don”t get it.
Sphere: Related ContentTweeting with Tweetdeck
I have about 6 or 7 Twitter clients on my iPhone and have been using all of them on and off and never really staying with one all the time. I’m happy to say that I’m down to two. Two because Tweet Deck does not work in wide keyboard mode. Yet, I hope.
Tweet Decks non use of the wide keyboard is about the only downside to the app. But it excels in so many other areas that you tent to over look it’s one short coming. What I love most about Tweet Deck is it’s ability to have all the functionality of the desktop app. You have the ability to create different columns for almost anything you want including mentions and any specific topic you want to follow.
I find Tweet Deck to be the best Twitter app for the iPhone but would love to hear what Twitter apps you might be using.

The graphics rock, the game play is smooth and fast and handling is really nice.
One thing about racing games on the iPhone platform is they tend to be pretty easy. That however is not the case with Need For Speed Undercover. This game is very competitive and not so easy, it really keeps you engaged.
